The Bertarelli Foundation
The Bertarelli Foundation was created by the Bertarelli family in Switzerland as the organisation for managing their philanthropic interests globally.
Driven by their common entrepreneurial spirit, every member of the Bertarelli family is conscious of the opportunities that their fortunate position gives them to invest time, energy and wealth into activities that can make a difference to those in less privileged situations. The Foundation brings together the family’s philanthropic initiatives in many fields, such as life sciences, sport, culture, education and environment.
In 2010, The Bertarelli Foundation joined the Blue Marine Foundation to enter into a partnership with the British government in order to sponsor the safeguard of the world’s largest marine reserve in the Chagos Islands, a British territory in the Indian Ocean.
