List of local merchants on the west coast of Scotland still buying and selling locally caught seafood:

“Our local creel fisherman Ian now has catch available for locals to purchase. Details are as follows:
The wait is over! Support your local creel fisherman, Ian. Fresh catch (weather dependent) at Lamlash Pier at 1pm every Friday.

Please pre-order and pay by calling 01880 760 378. If we don’t answer leave your phone number and Creelers will get back to you asap. Orders must be received by Thursday 6pm.

Langoustines per kg, £10.50 Small/ £13.50 Med/ £15.50 large, Crab £5 per kg, Lobster £18.50.

They will also deliver around Arran on Fridays, minimum order £30 for free delivery.”

  • Bally Philp, Kyleakin slipway, Isle of Skye.

“Bally Philp (Nemesis BRD115) will be selling premium creel caught whole live langoustine (prawns), at Kyleakin slipway, Isle of Skye. Price is around £10 per kg dependant on size. Squatlobster and Octopus sometimes available. Catch is limited on some days, so unless prior agreed, sales are strictly on a first come first serve basis. Local delivery sometimes available (please contact first) between Kyleakin/Kyle and Nostie (other areas possible by prior agreement only).”
