The Solent Wave 2025
In June 2025, 60 riders and walkers raised over £25,000 towards Blue Marine and the fantastic restoration work of the Solent Seascape Project. The cycle ride was organised by Just Pedal, creating a beautiful route, and supporting the cyclists with ride leaders, and support vehicles. Enroute the Climpson and Sons team kept us going with delicious coffee, and we stopped off for a wonderful lunch at the Merry Harriers. The walkers started the day off in Chichester Marina finding out about the wonderful Solent Seascape Project from some of the project partners, including teams from Solent Oyster Restoration, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and Chichester Harbour Conservancy. They were then guided around the stunning harbour on a 16km circular walk, through woodland, by wetlands and along the shoreline. The walkers and cyclists finished the day altogether in Chichester Marina for a BBQ at the BoatHouse in Chichester Marina.
Blue Marine is a life raft. Blue Marine knows that while it isn’t too late to save ourselves by saving the oceans, the ticking of the clock is getting louder and louder. Without hysteria or hectoring, Blue Marine gets on with doing effective work that makes a difference – they deserve our support, applause and assistance.
