The European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA) is a network of marine science educators. Its mission is to act as a hub for the European marine education community to promote and deliver ocean literacy across society by working with scientists, teachers, policy makers and the public. As experts in Blue Schools and Blue Education, EMSEA develop training and curricula.
EMSEA shares best practices and offers training opportunities through its annual international networking conferences. The 2025 annual conference was co-organised with partners who have been instrumental in advancing ocean literacy across Europe (Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), EMODNET, European Atlas of the Seas and EUROGOOS).
Blue Marine was invited to the EMSEA Annual Conference 2025 to participate in these knowledge-sharing events and networking around ocean literacy. We also hosted a stall where we promoted our our ‘BLUEprint for Marine Protected Areas‘ as an excellent ocean literacy resource for educators.
