Business Green interviewed Clare Brook on her career decisions which led her to becoming Blue Marine’s CEO. Prior to this, Clare spent almost 25 years working in sustainable finance and investment. By 2014, she felt she’d achieved as much as she could by ‘moving the dial’ in sustainable investing. Clare discussed what she loves most about working at Blue Marine, as well as the challenges she faced by switching careers and shared her advice on skills, training and qualifications useful in the conservation sector. To anyone seeking a job in green industries, Clare said “Don’t necessarily think that you have to study environmental sciences… Get a good skillset which suits your head and then follow your heart.”
