The 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) will be held in Yerevan, Armenia. COP17 will focus on reviewing progress of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) and accelerating action for nature. Blue Marine Foundation will be attending this year’s COP.
The CBD pact among the majority of the world’s governments sets out commitments for maintaining the world’s ecological diversity alongside economic development. The three main goals of the CBD are the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the sharing of the benefits from the use of genetic resources.
