Community Engagement in MPA Designation and Management

Partners: Oceano Azul Foundation and Sciaena.

This event provided concrete examples of successful MPA projects across the EU, introducing a new report on best practices on ensuring involvement of local communities in the establishment and management of these areas.

 

Small Fish, Big Impact: Time for Ecosystem-Based Management

Partners: FishSec and Irish Wildlife Trust.

This event highlighted the important role that small pelagic fish (forage fish) play in the health of marine ecosystems across Europe.

 

Tackling Fossil Fuel Subsidies in the EU: The risk of wasting a once-in-a-generation opportunity with the Energy Taxation Directive

Partners: BLOOM, Seas at Risk and Transport and Environment.

This briefing raised awareness about the Energy Taxation Directive (ETD).

 

‘Ocean with David Attenborough’: Screening & Discussion

Partners: Seas at Risk, ClientEarth and Oceana.

This film exposed the devastating impact of bottom trawling.
