Blue Marine created a booklet for the premiere of OCEAN WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH to support its campaign, The Bottom Line, exposing the hidden destruction of bottom trawling in marine protected areas. Despite their name, many MPAs endure intense trawling—over 33,000 hours in UK offshore zones in 2023 alone. This damaging fishing method destroys seabed habitats, kills untargeted marine life as bycatch, and releases stored carbon, worsening climate change. The Bottom Line campaign calls for action to end bottom trawling in UK marine protected areas.
