Ocean with David Attenborough is a powerful 2025 documentary exploring why the Earth’s oceans matter and the urgent threats they face. The film helps students understand the ocean’s role as both a victim of climate and biodiversity crises and a vital part of the solution.
In April 2025, we launched a national school ballot to invite students from across the UK to the premiere of OCEAN WITH DAVID ATTENBOROUGH. We managed to get 1,400 students there, but if you weren’t one of the lucky few don’t worry you can still watch the film.
Use selected clips with young people aged 7–18 to enrich your teaching of climate, ecology, geography and sustainability topics.
Free access to the film
National Geographic is offering educators free access to the documentary for use in schools, universities, museums, libraries, and charitable educational events. The film is available strictly for non‑commercial purposes.
