Richard Walters worked in partnership with the Solent Seascape Project, a major conservation effort led by Blue Marine Foundation, to create an EP inspired by the region’s coastal habitats, wildlife and communities. Songs from the Solent features eight original tracks including Lanterns Part 1 which showcases the voice of Jeremy Irons, the Oscar-winning actor born in Cowes. Louise MacCallum, Blue Marine’s Solent Project Manager, said: “Songs from the Solent has given me the opportunity to look at this beautiful seascape we are working to restore through such a wonderful new artistic lens. I feel excited for new members of the Solent community to discover the work we are doing through the power of music.”
