Blue Marine is calling for stricter compliance with existing laws and regulations, for private access agreements to be made more transparent and accountable, and for decision makers to be led by science at the upcoming meeting of the IOTC, rather than by greed, self-interest and short-term gain at the expense of the livelihoods and food security of coastal communities. Yellowfin tuna overfished, bigeye tuna subject to overfishing and skipjack’s catch limit ignored for the past three years.
